Kurt Vail Citizens Election Program

It’s seems like just yesterday that I was given the amazing opportunity to run for State Representative for Connecticut’s 52nd assembly district representing the towns of Somers and Stafford. It has been an honor serving these great communities and I’m excited to seek re-election in 2016. In 2014, I qualified for the Citizens Election Program and will be seeking to qualify again in 2016.

The Citizens Election Program requires candidates running for State Representative to raise $5,000 in small contributions and have at least 150 donors that reside in either Somers or Stafford. The completion of the program means the Vote Vail campaign will receive a grant of $27,850. Contributions must be at least $5 and no more than $100.

Please consider donating to my campaign so that I can continue working hard for Somers and Stafford, as well as state of Connecticut. Attached below is the form, please fill it out and mail to Bill Jenkins, my treasurer, at 63 Ridge Rd, Chaplin, CT 06235. If you have any questions you can call me at (860)458-9266 or my campaign manager Sal Titus at (860)549-2762 or email us at votevail16@gmail.com.

Thank you for all your support,

Vail voted against Gov. Malloy’s 2015 tax increases, which were the second largest in Connecticut’s history and tax tons of new services including getting a car wash.

My top priority is to continue to fight for common-sense budgets and lower state spending and taxes while bringing highly skilled jobs to Connecticut, “said Rep. Vail.

For the current legislative session, Rep. Vail plans to work with other legislators on proposals to help combat the rising epidemic of opiate addiction in our region.

Vail Wins Independent Party Endorsement

Vail Wins Independent Party Endorsement

DANBURY– At a caucus held on August 21st, the Independent Party of Connecticut voted unanimously to endorse Kurt Vail as their candidate in the November election.

This endorsement means Kurt Vail will not just appear on the Republican line, but will also appear on the Independent Party line on the ballot in November.  Connecticut residents not affiliated with either major party make up the largest percentage of voters in the state and desperately need a voice at the State Capitol.

“I have said all along my campaign is about putting the people of Stafford and Somers ahead of any party politics. As a state representative, I pledge to put the needs of the people of the 52nd district above the wants of party leaders and special interest,” said Vail.

The 52nd Assembly District consists of Stafford and Somers.

Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS

I was nominated by my friend and colleague, Chris Paradiso, to take the Ice Bucket Challenge. It is for a great cause, ALS awareness. My daughters Hannah and Vivian did the honors of pouring the ice water over my head from the second story. I’ve nominated my office manager, Stephanie Fanelli, my good friends John Perrier and John White, and my sister-in-law Cheryl Vail to take the challenge! They have 24 hours to take the challenge or donate to ALS or both. Check out the video below…
