It’s seems like just yesterday that I was given the amazing opportunity to run for State Representative for Connecticut’s 52nd assembly district representing the towns of Somers and Stafford. It has been an honor serving these great communities and I’m excited to seek re-election in 2016. In 2014, I qualified for the Citizens Election Program and will be seeking to qualify again in 2016.
The Citizens Election Program requires candidates running for State Representative to raise $5,000 in small contributions and have at least 150 donors that reside in either Somers or Stafford. The completion of the program means the Vote Vail campaign will receive a grant of $27,850. Contributions must be at least $5 and no more than $100.
Please consider donating to my campaign so that I can continue working hard for Somers and Stafford, as well as state of Connecticut. Attached below is the form, please fill it out and mail to Bill Jenkins, my treasurer, at 63 Ridge Rd, Chaplin, CT 06235. If you have any questions you can call me at (860)458-9266 or my campaign manager Sal Titus at (860)549-2762 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for all your support,

STAFFORD- State Rep. Kurt Vail (R-52) announced he will be running for re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives this November representing the towns of Stafford & Somers.
Vail, who is a Republican, serves on the Legislature’s Public Safety & Security, Labor and Public Employees, Insurance & Real Estate Committees.
In the last year Vail locally has:
- Worked with state and local officials to get funds to replace the parking lot at the Somers Police Department
- Worked to get funds for the elderly housing in Stafford’ s Woodland Springs
- Advocated for a state Brownfields grant to demolish and remediate the former Somersville Mill for future redevelopment
Vail said, “I have spent the first year and half getting to know the people of Stafford and Somers. I represent the people in the 52nd District, their voices are crucial in guiding me the do what is best for our community. “
Vail voted against Gov. Malloy’s 2015 tax increases, which were the second largest in Connecticut’s history and tax tons of new services including getting a car wash.
“Residents of Stafford & Somers consistently say to me they want Connecticut to stop taxing them into poverty and forcing jobs out of state. My top priority is to continue to fight for common-sense budgets and lower state spending and taxes while bringing highly skilled jobs to Connecticut, “said Rep. Vail.
For the current legislative session, Rep. Vail plans to work with other legislators on proposals to help combat the rising epidemic of opiate addiction in our region.
